Sacramento Rainbow Festival returns on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for a special “Retro Rainbow” celebration honoring more than four decades of community, music, visibility, and charitable giving.

Held annually over Labor Day Weekend in the heart of Sacramento’s Lavender Heights district, Rainbow Festival is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) event that brings together the LGBTQIA+ communities of Northern California and their allies for an unforgettable day of entertainment and celebration.

Since its beginning, Sacramento Rainbow Festival has contributed more than $1 million to charitable organizations serving communities throughout Sacramento, Northern California, and beyond. Fundraising remains at the heart of the festival’s mission, with proces helping support nonprofit organizations and important community programs.

As one of Sacramento’s largest annual LGBTQIA+ celebrations, Rainbow Festival features internationally recognized musical acts, tribute performances, local and regional entertainers, DJs, drag performers, community groups, festival games, arts and crafts, food trucks, vendors, and multiple stages of live entertainment.

More than a festival, Sacramento Rainbow Festival is a celebration of the people, organizations, artists, businesses, and supporters who have helped build and strengthen our community for more than 40 years.
